The 2024 Earth Day under the theme Planet vs. Plastics, calls for sustainable, responsible forest management practices which are key to the natural cycle of forests’ growth and renewal and, therefore, the sustainability of forest-based value chains.
The Service therefore calls for conservation, protection and sustainable use of forest resources, to enable forest support the circular value chain and the fight against plastics by providing alternative materials. Towards this, the Service continues to enforce the ban on single-use plastics within gazetted forests. All visitors are encouraged to carry reusable water bottles and dispose of waste in a responsible manner whenever they visit forests.
