The Chairman of Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Mr. Titus Korir, recently visited Kapsorok Ngeny’ Community Forest which is part of the Soin Sigowet’s natural environment in Soin Ward and is one of the unique ecosystems with diverse flora and fauna in Kericho County.
The Chairman who was accompanied by the CEC for Water and Environment for Kericho Ms Rosemary Rop thanked the Kapsorok Community for conserving the natural environment and said that he supports their plan to fence it in order to enhance its protection.
The gathering that took place in partnership with various stakeholders including the Kenya Forest Service, local authorities, and environmental officers was part of a shared commitment to studying and preserving the ecological balance in the region. Strategies to address environmental degradation in areas like Soin Forest were deliberated upon, emphasizing the need for comprehensive restoration approaches.
