The Deputy CCF in-charge of Plantation Management and Inventory, Mr. Andrew Soi, has today on behalf of the CCF met a team from Western Kenya Water Project (WKWP). The team is seeking KFS support in Water Resource Management to enhance sector coordination toward the realisation of sustainable water resources management.
This targets the Lake Victoria South and North Basin areas through supporting Water Resources Users Associations (WRUAs) in tree nurseries seedling production and tree growing. The empowerment of WRUAs with the necessary resources to manage and sustain tree nurseries, will promote reforestation and afforestation in the eight counties and contribute to the attainment of 30% tree cover by 2032.
He later also met a team from PANAFCON Ltd, which sought KFS input and collaboration as a major stakeholder, in areas of data sharing and technical assessment into the development of Climate Adaptation & Resilience Plan for water and sewerage management within Nairobi county.
