The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Mr. Alex Lemarkoko received the silver medal awarded to Forest Ranger Levis Ogutu at the just concluded All Africa Games in Accra Ghana. Mr. Ogutu who plays for the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) volleyball team was called up to the national team owing to his prowess in the game and ended up being recognised as the second best player of the continental tournament.
The CCF congratulated the forest ranger for elevating the name of KFS beyond the country and for demonstrating that the team has come of age in status. He said that the Service will continue to promote and nurture talent among staff and support them to realise their full potential.
The lanky ranger who was accompanied by his team mates and officials is stationed at Kereita Forest Station and is among the players who have elevated the KFS team to be one of the best in the country. The team is currently preparing for the quarter finals play offs to be staged soon.
