The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Mr. Alex Lemarkoko, joined H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, H.E. Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, fellow Service Commanders, KFS Board Chairperson Mr. Titus Korir, national leaders and Kenyans in celebrating Mashujaa Day 2026 at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
The national celebrations honoured Kenya’s heroes and heroines whose sacrifices and contributions have shaped the country’s history, while reaffirming the importance of patriotism, national unity and collective responsibility in advancing Kenya’s development.
As the country honours its heroes, the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) continues to advance forest conservation, landscape restoration and climate action through the 15 Billion Tree Growing Programme, which seeks to achieve 30% national tree cover by 2032. The Service calls on Kenyans to embrace environmental stewardship by planting trees, nurturing them to maturity and protecting existing forests for present and future generations.
Through collaborative efforts with communities and other stakeholders, KFS remains committed to safeguarding the country’s forest resources, restoring degraded landscapes and promoting sustainable environmental management for a greener, more resilient Kenya.
The CCF was accompanied by the Kenya Forest Service Commandant, Mr. Mohammed A. Mohammed, and other senior officers of the Service.
