Young people, particularly those in the creative arts, have immense potential to drive positive change and inspire action on environmental conservation.
Recognising this potential, the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) continues to engage young people across the country, leveraging their creativity, energy and influence to promote forest conservation and tree-growing.
It is in this spirit that Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Mr. Alex Lemarkoko today met with the Lwamba Tara Dance Group, led by Meshack Kararaiyo, at Karura Forest to explore how art and cultural expression can be harnessed to promote environmental conservation.
KFS and the group agreed to partner in mobilising young people and using music, dance and digital platforms to amplify the 2026 Mazingira Day celebrations and advance the national tree-growing agenda.
