The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Mr. Alex Lemarkoko received football kits for the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) team donated by Madison Insurance Company in his office at the KFS headquarters in Karura. He thanked Madison Insurance noting that they were long time conservation partners who had supported a number of activities in the Service.
Speaking to the senior officers from the insurance company led by the Operations Manager Ms Mercy Kago, the CCF informed them that the Service will soon establish an inter-conservancy tournament involving a number of sports to promote staff interaction and good physical health.
Ms Kago on her part thanked the CCF for the continuous collaboration and noted that it was important for the staff to also be sensitised on financial wellness to inculcate a saving culture. She added that her organisation was ready to support the Service in her quest to increase the country’s tree cover as well as providing insurance and financial training to staff.
It was agreed that the two organisations would formulate a memorandum of understanding to guide their future collaboration in the areas of tree growing, sports support and financial wellness training.
