800M Commonwealth Gold Medalist Plants Trees at Karura Training Base

2018, 800M Commonwealth Gold Medalist Wycliffe Kinyamal, first order of business upon return to Kenya was tree planting at Karura Forest where the Champion trains. He pledged to rally other athletes to plant and nurture trees, as forests have proved to be the best training grounds.


Ag. Chief Conservator of Forests, Monica Kalenda urged members of the public to embrace tree planting more so tree growing especially during this rainy season. She also urged the public to adopt forests as a symbol of national cohesion. Over 1000 trees were planted during the exercise that took place at the Wangari Maathai Corner in Karura Forest. Also in attendance were Wycliffe's family members, friends and KFS officials.
